What do you think? Is the internet a means of endless fascination or is it promoting distraction and interfering with our ability to concentrate for extended periods of time?

I think the internet is a means of endless fascination.  The internet opens millions and millions of windows and doors that I like to believe are filled with opportunity.  What you do with the opportunities is up to you however.  You can literally connect with anyone in the world on the internet, be it via Facebook, twitter, or anything that you can find for that matter.  You can get any information on the internet that you can get from any college class in the world, plus some.  You can watch any sporting events of the past and you can watch any sporting events that are going on at that exact time.  You can check on anything you want.  You can see how much money you have in the bank, check stocks to see what’s up and down, or simply buy anything you want from anywhere you want.  If you want to know figure out the answer to any questions you have or need to figure out answers for a class test, the odds are you can find anything you need 99.99999% of the time.  You can book hotels/motels wherever you wish to go.  You can book reservations at any places that offer that service.  You can really just set up anything you need to do ahead of time so you aren’t waiting around on something when you need to be doing something else.  The best thing about the internet is that in this point in time, you can do any and all of these things, plus almost infinite more things, faster than you can read them off of my blog.  The internet is definitely a means of endless fascination and the world would most definitely not be what it is today without the internet. ilysel :D

Television is rightly termed the "idiot box"

I would say that I don’t fully agree with this, but this is simply because I’m a television lover ha-ha.  I do agree in some aspects though.  When you’re watching TV it is like an idiot box because you’re just staring at a box with a picture in it for hours on end and you usually end up losing track of time and watching a lot more TV. than you wanted to initially.  There are so many things on TV. nowadays though that you really are learning something about something on just about everything you watch.  Even watching reality game shows is good to me because you are trying to get questions right and even when you’re wrong you learn the right answer in the end.  There are some shows though that I believe hold no purpose but to simply entertain and don't expose any evidence of trying to teach.  I believe that if you could take the same person and make him/her watch television all day or make them read all day, that the version which watches television all day will initially become smarter because of the vast amount of information that comes out of a television.  If you wanted to you could actually watch something like that 70's show and maybe the discovery channel at the same time, because neither require that your fully 100% immersed into the show to get the full meaning out of it.  To finish this I will say that I am a television lover and I always will be! :)

The supreme court ruling in the wal-mart case

I would definitely have to say that I agree with the decision.  There are way too many female employees at way to many locations to try and lump them all together and show some kind of similarity in how the female employees get paid less or that female employees get less promotion opportunities.  I did read that three individual women, who were plaintiffs in the case, had a chance to pursue their lawsuits with Wal-Mart however.  I would definitely have to agree with these women if they actually were discriminated against in any way though.  There should be even pay and even promotion opportunities for all men and women alike.  It’s getting to a time in the world now that I can surely say that it isn’t a man’s world anymore.  Women are putting their foot down everywhere and stepping up to show everyone their skills and what they can do.  I know one thing for certain, if I was a boss of the world’s largest privately owned organization, and I had to choose between hiring myself or my girlfriend, then I know I definitely wouldn’t even think about getting that job because my girlfriend has the type of attitude where she strives to do the best in everything she does and always makes those minor tweaks just to squeeze out that piece of perfection that she knows she’s able to.  She is very goal-oriented and doesn’t accept things like no or I can’t.  I feel like I’m writing a role model blog now, lol, because she definitely is my role model and inspires me like no other can and keeps me rolling along this road called life.

What would you attempt if you knew you couldnt fail?

If I knew I couldn't fail, I would probably attempt to win the lottery.  I already have everything else I could want in life, so why not make life a little easier by winning millions and millions of dollars.  If I won I don’t think I would honestly tell anybody though.  I would give some of the close people to me large donations to help their lives out probably.  I would take my girlfriend and I and move into a very nice house around the beach somewhere.  I like to skateboard, so I'd probably build a skate park wherever i chose to move to.  I wouldn't buy any of those super fancy cars because I’d rather just give myself something to do by buying an older car and trying my best to fix it up.  I would definitely have to say that I would buy a Burger King.  I would probably also buy a chic-fil-a.  Also I would buy an Olive Garden and an El Broncos, because those are two of my girlfriends’ favorite places to eat.  I would probably try my best to invest some money, so my children will one day be as well off as I would be if I won the lottery.  I would probably buy a pool hall so I could go and shoot free whenever I want to.  Actually I would only spend the money my girlfriend would let me spend because I would most likely give it all to her because she is way better than I am with money.  I actually definitely would because if I didn’t then this list would go on forever and I don’t think my class time allows for this so I guess in three words I shall stop.

What keeps you motivated?

There are many things that keep me motivated, but the first thing that motivates me, is me.  If I dont set my mind to something, then there is no possible way to accomplish it.  My family motivates me.  I have many family members that have went down the wrong path, and I just dont want to see myself going down any of those predetermined paths of failure and missery.  My Mom does everything I ask of her because she wants to support me as much as she can, and try and make everything as easy as possible on me.  My Dad is essentially the same way, just alot more calm about most situations.  My Friends motivate me in ways that might make others uneasy.  They constantly joke on me if I happen to make a mistake on something, or happen to make a wrong decision.  They do this because they know I'm the type of person who responds to stuff like that by trying my best to fix what I've done and turn my bad situations into good ones.  One of the biggest motivations I have is my wonderful girlfriend.  She motivates me to do things I never would have done or even thought I could do.  She helps me through each and everything I do, and lights my path when it gets dark.  She believes in me in everything I do and everything i try and pursue.  These are the things that motivate me and are helping me sit where I am and write this very blog.

Do you long for the past or look eagerly toward the future?

I don't often find myself longing for the past, simply because the future seems filled with so much more excitement.  This doesn't mean that I dont long for those high school days filled with friends around every turn or those much easier requirements to exceed in class.  Every once in a while this happens, but at this point in time the future just keeps popping out with newer and more exciting things to look forward too.  I am very eager to learn what the future holds for me.  I want to have that excitement of being 21 and going to a 21 and up bar with my friends and drinking the night away and telling stories from the past that everybody laughs at.  I'm eager and scared to someday kneel down before the woman of my dreams, and pray for that yes in return for my words.  I'm eager to someday to be a father to children who I can be loving, strict, and friendly to all at the same time.  I'm eager to travel the world and experience more than I ever dreamed that I could.  I'm eager to be a grandfather and if it happens even a great grandfather.  I'm eager to one day, far down the road, lay in my death-bed of pure old age, knowing that i used up every second of my time on Earth enjoying it and spending time with my loved ones and friends.
